Shadow Children is a series of seven books written by Margaret Peterson Haddix about a dystopian country suffering from food shortages due to drought and famine. The government kills or imprisons "shadow children" (children born after their first two siblings) to conserve food, despite having plenty of it. In some cases, a parent may choose to forge a child's identification card so a shadow child can live a normal life. This Wiki is dedicated to provide information about this series!
